Shipboard Marine Cables, are used for the power, control, instrumentation, and communications inside various ship. These cables have been approved by such class society as NK (Japan), LR (United Kingdom), BV (France), ABS (USA), DNV (Norway), GL (Germany), KR (Korea), RINA (Italy), and CR (Taiwan). JIS C 3410: This cable conforms to the Japanese industrial specifications and is the most common in Korea and Japan.
IEC SHF1: This is a thermoplastic halogen-free cable that conforms to the IEC. This environmentally friendly product does not contain acid gas that are harmful to human body.
DIN 89158-89160: This is a high-strength EPR-insulated cable that conforms to the DIN specification. This product is categorized as highly flexible CR sheath cables and as cables that do not contain harmful acid.
IEEE 1580 E/X: This is a cable for ships, which conforms to the IEEE, the U.S. standard. The insulation of the TYPE E cables is ERP and that of the TYPE X cables is XLPE.
Off-shore cables are used for power, control, instrumentation, and communications in various special ships such as LNG and in maritime devices such as FPSO. These cables have been approved by such class society as LR (United Kingdom), BV (France), ABS (USA), DNV (Norway), and GL (Germany). LS Cable has obtained such certification as UL, ETL, and GOST (Russia) for these cables.
AS 4193: This cable conforms to the Australian standard and is a representative product manufactured in a gas-tight construction. Since a thermo-set halogen-free sheath is applied for the ERP insulation, this product is appropriate for FPSO.
JIS HF: This thermo-set, halogen-free cable conforms to the basic IEC. Since the product name is similar to the name of cables for JIS ships, it can be easily identified. This product is appropriate for LNG.
NEK 606: This cable conforms to the Norwegian specification and is MUD-proof.
BS 6883/7917: This cable conforms to the British standard and is sheathed by using chemicals and oil-resistant materials.
IEEE 1580 P: This cable conforms to the IEEE, which is the U.S. standard. Flexible conductors are used for the TYPE P cable. Since the XLPO insulation is sheathed by using very flexible PCP materials, this cable is very soft, easily installed, and flexible.
IEEE 1580 LSE/LSX: This halogen-free cable conforms to the IEEE standard.
Cables for Military Vessels
Cables for military vessels are used for power, control, instrumentation, and communications within warships such as transport ships, battleships, and submarines.
These cables have been recognized by the shipping bureau of Korea, which is KR. LS Cable has obtained KETI certification and has been approved by the Korean Navy. It has applied for the U.S. NAVSEA certification.
MIL-DTL-24643B: This cable conforms to the standard of the U.S. Navy and is categorized as water-proof cables and non-waterproof cables. This product is highly abrasion-proof.
MIL-DTL-24640B: This cable conforms to the standard of the U.S. Navy and is much lighter than 24643B. This product is categorized as water-proof and non-waterproof cables and is easy to installed since it is light and flexible.
VG 95218: This cable is highly flame-retardant, halogen-free, and oil-proof.
Rolling Stock Cables
Cables for vehicles are non-toxic, halogen-free, and conform to the NFF, which is the standard of France. This product is used for power, control, instrumentation, and communications inside of various vehicles such as trains, subways, and high-speed electric express train. It is available for signal transmission among railroads and for the insides of station buildings. Also, LS Cable has obtained the British WALLINGTON certification for these cables and has delivered the cables to KTX, the Korean high-speed electric express train. The performance and quality of these LS Cable products have been recognized internationally.
Nuclear Power Plant Cables
Nuclear power plant Cables are used inside of nuclear power plant. These cables are classified as Class 1E cables (for electric facilities and systems required for preventing radioactivity from being leaked by stopping the atomic pile, separating the pressurized vessels, cooling down the firepot, and by removing heat from the pressurized vessel when an emergency accident occurs at an atomic pile) and NON CLASS 1E cables (typically used for turbine buildings and switchyards in the non-safety fields).
